Driver requirements
- Minimum age 21 (25 for luxury vehicles), with at least one year of driving experience.
- A valid driving licence. GCC residents can drive on their national licence; most tourists can use their home licence or an International Driving Permit alongside their passport.
- Passport or Omani national ID for identity verification.
Payment and deposit
- Payment by card or cash at pickup; online payment is available for most bookings.
- A refundable security deposit may be required depending on the vehicle class — confirmed before you book.
- Rates include daily, weekly (7+ days) and monthly (28+ days) tiers; the cheapest applicable tier is applied automatically.
Insurance
Every KishRent vehicle carries comprehensive insurance from licensed Omani insurers. An excess (deductible) applies in the event of an at-fault accident; reduced-excess options are available on request. Off-road driving is covered only for 4x4 vehicles rented explicitly for that purpose.
Fuel, mileage and borders
- Vehicles are provided with a fuel level noted at pickup — return with the same level.
- Standard rentals include generous mileage; long-distance plans are available for road trips.
- Taking the vehicle outside Oman requires written approval and cross-border insurance arranged in advance.
Airport pickup and delivery
We deliver to Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, hotels and addresses across Muscat and Salalah. Delivery terms and any fees are confirmed at booking.
Extensions and returns
- To extend, message us on WhatsApp before your return time — extensions are usually confirmed within minutes.
- Late returns beyond a short grace period may be charged as an extra day.
- Return the car in the condition received; excessive cleaning or damage is chargeable per the signed rental agreement.
Fines and breakdowns
- Traffic fines incurred during the rental are the renter's responsibility.
- In case of breakdown or accident, call us immediately — 24/7 roadside assistance is included. Do not arrange repairs yourself.
